Honeychild, have you had a look on Keith's blog? I think if you put this:

< a class=' menu ' href='<% Subscribelink %> '>< %Subscribelink% >< /a >< br >

where you want the link to appear in your template, it should work. Does that help? Take out the spaces, they're just there to make it show up.
